NTEU President, TSA Administrator Pistole to Meet

NTEU President Colleen M. Kelley is scheduled to meet with TSA Administrator John Pistole. NTEU’s leader said collective bargaining rights will be at the top of her agenda.

As he promised the Senate, Administrator Pistole is conducting a review of the issue of collective bargaining rights in TSA.

President Kelley recently met with DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano to underscore the importance of collective bargaining rights. Secretary Napolitano reiterated her earlier statement that collective bargaining rights are not inconsistent with the mission of TSA.

“I feel certain that after conducting an independent review, Administrator Pistole will find that there is no reason to deny these employees rights they have been denied for too long,” said President Kelley. “It is my hope that collective bargaining rights will be in place shortly and a union election could then be set at the soonest possible opportunity.”
